In Room 2 we have a strong focus on LEARNING (change). The expectation is that at all times Room 2 students should be able to explain what they are LEARNING... NOT DOING.
This is difficult.
The children are used to just explaining what they are doing or the information that they discovered.
The key word here is CHANGE.
Therefore we should scaffold the children.
For example: "What did you LEARN about yourself while you were finding that information?"
"How has finding this information CHANGED you?"
It's also important to note that LEARNING is not just limited to Thinking...but Relating to Others, Managing Self, Participating and Contributing and Using Language Symbols and Text.
Refer to future blogs that give examples.
